The Thieves
Camp;; pic..
Territory;; The Thieves' territory is mainly just a thick woodland, known as the Deep Forest. Trees of all kinds (hackbury, holly, willow, oak, o'sage orange, black walnut, horse chestnut, etc..) are thick here and blot out the most most of the time. The forest's floor is covered with a thick loam of dead plants and weeds, as well as herbs and ferns and many types of flowers. Sticker-vines, you will find, crawl up nearly every tree, ready to slice at your flesh. The Thieves find sticker-vines superb for patching up the Bramblewall, a thick barrier of brambles, ferns and thorns that protects the main camp. Streams carve through this forest in abundance, bubbling about here and there, though most are hidden by boulders or thick undergrowth. Your vision is imparied here, as it is shadowy and dark, with eerie cawings of birds and insects and prey. Strong genes for excellent eyesight runs well among thne Thieves, especially since there are rarely any protruding bloodlines because the Thieves are very picky when it comes to blood. In this forest, you will lose your sense of direct all too easily without good eyes.
The Split Clearing is smaller than the camp, but still circular in shape and a superb hunting spot. The tall grasses seems to grow more lowly as you near the muddy creak that cuts across it. Fish of all sorts like perch, crauppies, bass, catfish, minnows and ever a few red carp can be caught here. Though perch are the most common catch. The Thieves are not nearly as skilled in the water and with fish as the Floodlanders, but they manage. Every so often you will see tiny crawdads zooming about among the shadows, sntaching baby fish and unsuspecting minnows. Then the crawdads are eaten by small turtles, who were lying in wait just behind a clump of cat-tails. Rabbits, rodents, snakes and insects find this creek as prime drinking hole, so there are plenty of that type of prey as well. Weasels also hunt here and make dens, so chase them out or kill them for prey when any try to make themselves comfortable. Occasionally a fox will come by, but that is quite rare. This are also is very hilly and gets much sunshine, unlike the rest of the Thieves' territory. Since the sunlight isn't blocked by any trees, grasses and flowers of many types prosper through the Life and Sun Season here. Some make it through the middle of the Fire Season, but not many, By Still Season, the grasses are cold and dry and the flowers are shriveled and frosted. UNFINISHED, WILL NOT FINISH BECAUSE OF THE DEATH OF MY HANDS D8
